So I have an ATI 9250 128MB DDR AGP card in my rig, and it has DVI-I output. Coincidentally, my TV has Component input (it's not an HDTV, the HDTV I wanted had DVI input but was not in stock, go figure). I am using a DVI-I dual link to Component video adapter with selectable supported resolutions which include 480i/p all the way upto 1080i.
I can get a picture using this adapter and cable setup just fine, and it is VERY clear compared to using S-Video or Composite, but there is no color vibrance at all, it is mostly just blues. You can see the other colors but the blue just way overpowers the other colors and makes the screen look like crap. Am I doing something wrong here? Do I need to use an actual HDTV to actually use this component setup properly?
We also tried this out on my friend's projector, which will support ALL resolutions and can show HD, and it looked the same. Please help me find out what's wrong here!
Thanks!
