At my work I have a comp with an AGP TNT2 card and I just scavenged a PCI S3 Trio32/64 video card that I wanted to use for a second monitor. I plugged it in, but it won't display anything. Windows correctly detects the card, but says there is a problem in the device manager(only it doesnt say what the problem is). I've tried reinstalling the drivers and no fixing it. I've checked the IRQs for the PCI slots and there are no conflicts with other PCI cards. Is there anything special I need to do inorder to get this to work? I'm running winXP pro.

I'm kinda desparate here, the debugging enviroment we have has tons of windows which are actually useful to see all at the same time so I would really like to get this up and running as it is insanely hard to keep track of what you are doing if you are constantly switching windows. 99% of the PCs are newer and come with dual display cards from the get-go, but interns always get the shaft.... :(

Any help much appreciated.

Go into your Bios and set it to display the PCI card first, I had to do that with my old S3 card.
