I'm thinking about reformatting (just installed a new video card Nvidia to an ATI) and I was curious the difference in the 2 formatting options while installing windows. I remember reading that the quick format option isn't as "good" as the regular formatting and a noticable performance difference would become noticable. Is this true? I want to reformat, but I really have no desire to sit and wait for windows to format my 200gig hd.

Any thought or opinions, or did I just hear some idiot spewing lies?

you could do the full format overnight. then wake up and install.

If I'm re-installing the same OS onto the drive...as in your case, I just do a quick format.

Here some info on your question
Microsoft Quick vs Regular (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;302686&Product=winxp)

I personally just choose quick.
