Transfer of files

Hey I have a PC and a Laptop both running Windows Professional. I will like to know is there any other way to transfer files from computer to computer w/o burning or using the internet. Is there some type of plug or option I can use to transfer some files?

You can connect the two computers if they both have NIC cards by using a CROSSOVER cable from nic card to nic card. A regular cat5 cable wont work, it must be a crossover cable. You will of course have to set up a share on at least one of the computers.
