Hello, I recently bought a new Maxtor 200GB drive and want to install Windows XP Pro on it. (HD is in the main system in sig, has BIOS support, don't worry) Now I know that you need SP1 for 48-bit LBA support (>137GB), and of course see that the install only recognizes that much. I'm planning on making a 120GB-ish partition on there to install Windows then once I install SP2 make another partition. Will this plan be okay? What about if I resize the 120GB partition with PartitionMagic later? That OK too?

Yes, what you described should work fine. You should be able to make a partition of any size up to 127GB, and then create a new partition later of whatever size you want. And you could use partition magic to resize the original one to the actual drive capacity later if you wanted to as well.
