I would like to have 2 HD's in my system, one for the OS and one for games. It will be a game only box.
I know the raptor is the fastest, but I can only afford 1. Would it be better to use it as the games or OS drive?
Also, what would you suggest for the other drive?
Specs:
Asus A8N-e
AMD 3200 Venice
Nvidia 7800
Pioneer DVD
Vertigo Acid

Raptor for OS, and then a 7200RPM SATA drive for storage. How much space do you need? I'm a big fan of the Maxtor 300gb Diamondmax 10/Maxline III drives.
Just re-read your question edit: Why not put the OS and the games on the same drive? http://hardforum.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

Thanks for the suggestions.
I thought that with the OS all by itself, it would be faster. And since games are getting so big these days, I figured it would make life easier.
Would just the 74gig Raptor partioned in half work?

A 2 disk system for transferring files is always faster than using one disk drive. Raptor for the bootup drive and another for your large file storage.
Look at the HardForums buying guide for what will be best for your 2nd drive.
