My new computer arrives tommorow. I wanted to ask those with the experience what I should do before and during setting it up. I'm thinking I'll install Norton AntiVirus Corporate (in addition to the included Internet Security), install Anti Spyware and a Firewall, update Windows XP and Internet Explorer, and uninstall the unwanted junk. I've thought about formatting and reinstalling the OS via the included image disk (provided it's there, it's a Compaq), but if it's an image, won't it reinstall the possible junk and spyware I'm trying to get rid of? Is it worth it? I'm also using Comcast cable and was wondering how to install it on the computer. Is there an installer on the net somewhere? Ultimately, what other things should I do for protection and performance?

Thanks in advance.

It's an image disk, and yes it will install whats already on there hence the name image...In lamer terms an image is just that.....It "resets" your computer to how it was the first second you laid your hands on it.....
