I am getting a KDC error event ID 11 on my server. It is saying I have multiple accounts with name MSSQLSvc/[computer].[domain].local:1433, obviously with those values filled in. I found out that my Administrator account and the server computer both have this SPN. I would like to eliminate this error from occurring, so I need to change the SPN of one of them. I believe changing the SPN on the administrator account makes more sense. Am I correct in this assumption? Will changing this effect anything? Or should I go about it a different way?
Now, if I do need to change the SPN, how do I go about doing it? I think I should use the setspn tool, however, what would be the proper usage? If I have to specify the new SPN, what should I change it to?
