Video sound to just regular mp3 or wave....

Just wondering if this is possible? and where and what is the program i can do this with....

Basically a video with black picture, i just want to the sound... any ideas on how to do this?

Yes it is possible. The best way to do it depends on the format though. One way is to play it in winamp and use the diskwriter output plugin. Wont be the fastest way but it works, and if youve already got winamp... Also, most other tools I could find to do it are shareware or otherwise restricted.

If the file is an AVI then Virtualdub will strip out the audio as a wav that you can then play with. If it's an MPEG file, then FlaskMPEG will do the same thing.
