Are there any other wide screen gamers having problems with resolutions in BF2? I still, for the life of me, cannot get BF2 above 1024x768, and to be honest I think it is only really displaying 800x600.

I have already tried adding the string +szx +szy, and no luck. I have also tried editing the BF2 .con files, all of them, from the one in my documents to the ones in the BF2 install directory, and still nothing. All I get is a black screen, like its loading, and then it crashed to desktop.

I have my computer hooked up to my Samsung 46" DLP tv through DVI-D, and it works for other games like HL2 or Doom3, but not for the BF2 demo. This is becoming more and more frustrating with each day that passes. I have been scanning all manner of wide screen gamming forums such as AVS, Wide screen gamming forum, and Tiger Dave. I have come across people with the same problem as me.

If there is anyone who knows how to fix this, please help !!!! As it stands right now, I wont be buying this title, which I very much looked forward too. It really is frustrating that even Giants Citizen Kabuto (SP?), which is how many years old, supports widescreen resolutions and BF2 does not.

*On a side note, anyone using wide screen resolutions is not getting true wide screen. There are images which show this on the wide screen gamming forums. It just adds black boxes to the top and bottom of a 4:3 resolution, in a half ass way to get wide screen, so in effect you get to see less of the environment.

install different drivers? Or actually wait til full game is out to see. Demos can be shady sometimes.

Also, just for your information. I have a 1280 x 1020 LCD monitor and on Battlefield 2 it plays at 1280 x 960. It will not go higher, so now i have black bars which is what you stated earlier.

It would be foolish to buy the game, in hopes it supports widescreen, when the demo does not.

...+srx +sry...
The string is +szx 1680 +szy 1050, for 1680x1050 just substitute with and height respectively. I didn't know if the +srx or +sry was a typo or that maybe you didn't use the right string.

It was a typo, I have already tried that.

Seems to play OK on my Grand Wega III at 1280x720, I have a slight stretching but nothing major. Looks great still.

However, I have some framerate problems. It seems to be running at 30 fps only at 1280x720 with everything on "high" but lighting. Oh, and AA on x2.

Considering my setup, shouldn't it be faster? ( I play only on 64 player servers... I wonder if my CPU holds me back )

I turned off Catalyst AI today, and I don't know if it was turning that off or something else, but my framerates improved a lot. When I had it on, my frames were around 30 in battles, now they are nearer to 45 and 50.

have only tried 1280x960, looks respectable for 4:3. Will try command line parameters tonight. i want 1776x1000 like my desktop on the 60" GWiii :D
(can you say field of view?)

Huggles: you are running off the component output right? Maybe closing ALL un-necessary programs like dmonkey started will help.
