Like THIS (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=205-048) but widescreen. I really dont want to have to take apart a portable LCD player if I dont have to.

A portable DVD player would probably just have an integrated LCD controller that you wouldn't find very useful. No clue about small widescreen displays for sale, though.

go to a car audio store, it'll be a tv so it'll have a composite input instead of a vga. Try sounddomain.com or something like that.

I'd check out some console LCDs, like this one:

I don't know if how many are widescreen, though. They also run from about $100-$150.
