i cant install IIS on XP Pro, im missing alot of files needed for the install.

Is there a reason i cant find these files on the XP Disk?

Its the Orignal XP disc, before SP1.

specfically so far i need

iisperf.pmc, iis.msc, iis6.cab etc

any idea where i can get these files? ive been seaching the net for the past hour looking.

If you are running SP2, you have to use an SP2 CD. Slipstream it if you haven't already.

You can also try running the following in the command line: esentutl /g %windir%\security\database\secedit.sdb

If that doesn't find any errors, then you have to do the slipstream thing.

How are you trying to install IIS?

You should just be able to go thru control panel > add remove programs > add remove components and then select IIS to install.

i tried doing both of those things already.

It looks like the only way to do this is to get my hands on a XP Pro disc with SP2 already on it..........

It would be helpful to know exactly what errors or problems you are running into while trying to install IIS.

Sounds like you've either got a bad disc or faulty CDROM since IIS has been included with Windows XP from day 1.

Is your disc damaged in any way?
Do you have problems with any other CDs?

FYI your not going to find those files for download anywhere unless someone else hosts them for you.

Try uninstalling SP2 and then install IIS then reinstall SP2 on the workstation.

nope the CD isnt damaged and i have no problems with any cds.

The files that its looking for arent on the CD at all.
