View Full Version : do sata and ide work together?

Hi,
I have a 74gb raptor and 5 ide drives, i was thinking of makin the raptor the boot drive but i wasnt sure if i could have those two interfaces mix together.
First time using a sata drive and through my experience with sys building there shouldnt be any problems but i just wanted to make sure.

they work fine, If your on an amd system just make sure to hit F6 when you reload and load the sata drivers.. Thats it

Yes, usually, but some Intel boards have a "pretend to be pata" mode where you don't need drivers. ICH5, for example.
