Stupid WinXP Icon color question

up until this evening, the colors of the background of the text in all of my icons was translucent, and it showed whatever the background was on my desktop. now, it has become a dark blue for some reason. changing my system theme and then changing it back hasnt worked.

anyone know where the option to change this option is, and if so, how to make it translucent? ive had this problem before, but couldnt fix it then either.

Right click on My Computer

Click Properties

Click the Advanced tab

Under the Performance section, click Settings

Under the Visual Effect tab, near the bottom of the list of check box options, check "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"

Should take care of it :)

yeah, i tried that, it didnt work, but for some reason, they ended up coming back anyways... yeah, go figure. i found some other hints out there, and tried all those, and they didnt work either, so im just hoping it sticks this time, cause i dont know how im going to fix it again.
