computer locking up

my computer locks up all the dang time, it just started like a few weeks ago, but out of no where it'll lock up and then when it comes on the error report says it was caused by a device hardware or software driver, how could i fix this? i got the newest drivers for my mouse and keyboard,video card, and just went and got the latest drivers for my mobo, and was wonderin do i uninstal the first or just instal over them? or is this seven the problem?

What OS and what is the exact error message?

sorry for not givin my information, my OS is WinXP and the error says, windows has just recovered for a critical error....and some other stuff, then it says send or dont send error report, and when the webpage comes up w/ the report it says it was caused by a device driver
