...on my Antec SLK3000-B. Wondering if something like this would do the trick:

Do I run any risk of the CPU HSF being torn off the socket and shot through the back wall, killing my elderly neighbour?
Or I suppose a better question would be... how many minutes until the CPU HSF is torn off etc. etc. etc.
Please advise.

I don't think anything will be getting torn off if you use that fan for an intake...
if you do decide to buy that fan, make sure you buy a fan controller too because the 65 dBa is going to be loud

Torn off?

Yes, as in torn asunder, shearing through the back of the case, the back wall (and all requisite plumbing/wirint/etc), a few small animals, etc.
Sheesh, a little humour fellas! I just thought the given CFM and dB ratings were absurdly high.

May I be the first to say that the hub on that thing is HUGE!!

so was making this thread a complete joke?

A *complete* joke, no. I *am* actually looking for an 120mm intake for my Antec SLK3000-B.
Some folks may also find a need for a ludicrously high-cfm high-dB 120mm fan. You can never have too much information, ya know!

What do you have running for your exhaust? Perhaps it might be a better idea to have a slightly stronger fan on the exhaust, with a slightly weaker fan on the intake. Why you would ever want to run such loud fans, is not up to me. I prefer silence.

I don't know what you're running, but I don't think you would see any realistic benefits from such a fan. I have an Antec Super Lanboy with 3 HDDs and I run the low RPM 120mm fans that come with it and my temps stay 40C. I even have a low speed HSF.

Indeed... I was considering the low-speed Panaflo or a Vantec Stealth for upfront... not sure what the specs are on the 120mm that comes standard as exhaust. I was going to mount an 80mm on the side duct but figured that might cause turbulence and harm more than help.
I honestly couldn't imagine a standard home-type user having a need for one of the fans I mentioned in the first post. But it **IS** still a mighty impressive piece of equipment. I may pick a few up to create an array just for drying off the kitties after their baths. They would have to be strapped down, natch.

A low-speed Panaflo would probably be spun up against it's will thanks to that Delta you'll be having in the back. Why not balance it out? 120mm fans do move a lot of air, so why not go for the middle ground, like a medium-speed Panaflo for both front and rear?

SORRY, WHAT WAS THE QUESTION AGAIN, I COULDN'T HEAR YOU

The Antec case comes standard with a single 120mm in the rear as exhaust, though I'm not sure what kind of air it moves as I haven't built the case (one of the teeming thousands waiting for Venice). I'm just trying to anticipate what I'll need up front to try to balance it out.
The Delta is just completely out of control.

I'd say that Antec 120mm fan moves around 40cfm of air. The SLK3000B is designed as a quiet case, not necessarily a hardcore overclocker's case. I think it is one of those new user-adjustable units (low/medium/high).

Yeppers, definitely has the little switch w/three positions. If it's quiet then I'll probably go w/the Vantec Stealth... uberquiet and moves right around the same amount o' air if I'm not mistaken.
