I have an old Athlon Barton (3000+) that needs a basic heatsink & fan.
I purchased a Zalman HS & fan but it was too large to fit on the EPoX motherboard. They have a row of caps that conflicted with the HS&F.

Can someone recommend a good OEM size Heat Sink & Fan for my Barton CPU?

Are you going to be OCing? Because if not, anything on newegg for socket 462/A will do fine, as long as it's not made for Durons or something. If you will be OCing, look for something copper and a high cfm fan. Oh, and does noise matter? Get back to me and I'll help you out with some specific suggestions.

I am not over clocking by any means but I am using a AMD OEM CPU for a old AMD XP 2600+ or something like that. A very low end CPU and I have the Barton cpu declocked now to keep from over heating on my Linux server - You can see how low it is running...

[root@server ~]# cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep "cpu MHz"
cpu MHz : 1052.669

I just don't know what is good for a Barton chip to bring it back to normal speed.
