How to format int. HD from ext. Enclosure?

I'm currently using a laptop so i cant plug the internal hard drive to be formatted in an actual computer. I only have an external enclosure, does anyone know how to format a hard drive through an external enclosure?

Once you plug it in you should see it under your My Computer (assuming you're talking XP here). Right-click and format it.

Or... right click on "my computer" and select "Manage". Go to disk management (local), find the drive and format it.
