Gr33ts 1337 fr34ks!

I think I want to do something cool so help me out.

I want to move my sata HDDs to outside the case. Optimally this would be in a 2 or 3 drive enclosure (something stylish). But the trick is to use a PCI plate to pass through the SATA and power cables. What you think?

I'm doing just that, scroll down on this page here for an 8 port internal to external adapter (http://www.macgurus.com/productpages/sata/SATACables.php) and various cables that might come in handy.

As for power, just use whatever PSU comes in the drive case and a 4-pin molex to sata adapter. I'm running my drives this way in a former scsi mini-tower I snagged off ebay.

No, I'm not using all 8 ports, but it's nice to know I don't need to buy another adapter if I need up upgrade down the road.
