Monitor question

heres my current specs:

1.5GHz P4
512MB SDRAM
radeon 9200se

I am getting a new machine soon, and I have a 3-4 year-old monitor, and the max resolution is 1280x1200.

My new machine is going to have an 6800 GT, do you guys think I should get a new monitor that supports 1600x1200 resolution? Or should I just save my money and keep the one I have.

Um could we have more info, like what size monitor & what brand & model number. We can't very well make a call without knowing what you have already.
