Okay, I have a really annoying problem.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;321186&Product=winxp#kb1

I had this problem explained in that link. I did what was said in registry, but it does not set it back to default. Now instead when I double click folders and drives, it opens them in explorer, which is alot better than opening shearch on a double click. But id like if it just opened folders and drives normally, without using explorer.

Now, could i just type 'open' where it says to type 'none' in the default values for it to use the normal open method? or will that not work and screw things up more?

Doubt writing 'open' will work.

When you say Explorer do you mean IE, or explorer as in windows explorer?

windows explorer. ive tried open, it dosn't work, is there any way someone know to set this back to open when i double click directories and drives?

basically if i right click my computer, c:, or any other windows directories the default method its gunna use is explore, instead where normally it would just be open.

maybe i could get someone to open regedit and go to

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell

and tell me what the value data is for the default value under each of those?

Okay thanks, i fixed it.

under file types, and under folder, it was set to explore and not open, so setting to none should fix things.

I'm confused. When I open C:\ it opens using Windows Explorer which is the file managment system for Windows, kind of like Konqueror for KDE...
But glad to hear you fixed it...
