From what ive seen this is a common problem, but i cant find a common answer, when i right click a document, it takes about 8 seconds for the menu to appear

I have no programs that would do something to the file in the menu, ie: scan with antivirus etc... but it still takes way too long

help me on this one...thanks

Get a faster computer. :p How much memory do you have? While you are at it give us the rest of your specs.

Right click on "my computer", properties, advanced, performance, set to "adjust for best performance".

I had the same problem some time ago, and the solution for me was to install the Intel Chipset drivers.

didnt work dariob, and my specs are shit, im on a laptop, 2.66 GHz 512 ram, 64 mb graphics yea it sucks, but my ram should be fine, i dont have that many large processes

It's almost always related to the viedo subsystem. Either you need better or updated video drivers, or the motherboard's chipset drivers loaded.

Is your harddrive working hard during those 8 seconds?

If so, you have some software that has built itself into the right click menu and is snagged on something.

Well how did installing/reinstalling the chipset drivers go? I'm assuming you tried it.. and if you didnt don't bother asking for help if you dont do what they suggest.
