How are the latencies so low compared to the much higher priced Corsair XMS? And how do they do for overclocking?

i wasnt aware TCCD could be used for DDR2

okay, since this will help me make my choice on which system I get, what type of RAM should I get? High quality DDR or DDR2? I'd be buying the RAM by the end of the week if not sooner, so should I go with G.Skill DDR or this PDP DDR2?

Thanks

I'd go gskill

What are you putting this ram in? You cannot use DDR2 on a board designed for DDR.

this i know, but its either an AMD nForce system, or a P4 system

thats still not proven, acording to samsung, they just stope production it it to seel off there stock of other chips, TCCD will be back in production..

Im wondering why we dont see samsung made memory, with TCCD on it..Mabey thell make there own higher end memory line...

It is no contest...go with AMD. You wont be able to find the G.Skill anymore though...its all gone thanks to stupid Samgsung. PDP also has DDR1 that is TCCD on Brainpower PCB (the person above was wrong, the link you provided is NOT TCCD, its DDR2 so it cant be). I would definatly go with the AMD system though, if your going to be gaming, A64's are just better...and ATM good DDR1 still beats DDR2 because of the lower latencies.

somewhat, you can't compare DDR2 latency to DDR1 latency though because everything is doubled... so yes, it is more from a traditional standpoint, but it's 1.5*2 = CL3 for DDR2

I myself would be less worries about the DDR issue anyways. I would go with AMD for the processors, not that they use DDR1. If your gaming, you want A64, benchmarks have proven that. I wouldnt base my purcahse on the memory they use.

But also, take into concideration that DDR2 is still more money for what you get also.
