I have an old HP set up with an old via chipset. Its an asus motherboard A7M-VM. I am having a problem with the video cards or the display i am not sure. I have reinstalled and uninstalled drivers and everything else imaginable. I go to install windows xp and it asks for the via agp filter .ins file. Which I cannot find. But the main issue is the monitor keeps flickering on and off. Let me know. If anyone can help.

Sounds like you need to reinstall the 4-1 Via drivers.

Some of the older via chipset boards seem to not work correctly with the newer 4 in 1 reference drivers.. Try the driver for that board from asus..

Xp and my KT133 and KX133 refuse to work properly with the newer 4in1s but work fine with the one's off of their respective manufacturers website.. In my case Abit and Asus..
