When you select a program to be on the exceptions list, for example, i selected mIRC to be on it so i can access mirc and download stuff. But when you do this, are you totally unblocking this program to the point where you no longer have any protection from attacks or viruses or anything else that might pop up?
thanks

I dont know if freebie firewalls work as well as actually going out and buying one. Im using a router, XP firewall and zonealarm. I generally turn off the XP firewall since at times I cannot send or receive files on msn. I'd make sure to have a virus scanner too.
