my first mod: mini atx server in an old tandon case

like i said, its my first major mod, since im completely redoing the case to house standard pc parts.

Heres the empty case, the screw standoffs and the second bar on one side will have to go.

Ive tested it and it works.

and thats all ive done so far, ill keep u guys updated.
 
ok, no actual modding, but heres what it will look like:

This is the motherboard ill be using, the Syntax S635MP .

Thats all for tonight, hopefully ill mount the motherboard tomorrow. Another issue ill have is how to have the ports configured. Should i just have them on the side of the case, or should i somehow extend the ports to the back of the case?
 
I'd advice some kind of an emi shield between the two, just a sheet of it maybe
 
i was thinking about putting a small sheet of metal in between them, but there really isnt a lot of room. ill see if i can find one thick enought to fit in between. hopefully there will be more updated this week, i really havent had time to work on it lately.
 
sorry to bump a dead thread.
just had to comment, because i owned a tandon, a surplus machine from my dad's work that used to run a cnc mill. it was the first 286 I owned. so it's good to see this mod.
