If you are planning on getting this game and don't want to know anything about it beforehand, GET OUT OF HERE.....NOW!

Ok, sooooo Lord Saddler just kill Luis Cera (Sera? I forget)and not I'm pissed! I was NOT expecting that to happen :( And then that damn cult freak took the vials! Also, controlling Ashley is a bitch. Not being able to fight back with my riot gun pisses me off and I don't like her attitude (when freeing her from the bindings I purposely shot her in the head once because i dislike her)

This game keeps getting better and better. At first I thought the plot was a little blahhh but now it's getting a lot more in depth and engrossing, yummy! Match that with difficulty and Spanish obsenity speaking zombie dudes, and you got yourself one helluva game!

The graphics suprised me in this game also. The water has to be the best water i have seen in a console game, and the lighting adds a very nice touch to the atmosphere of the game (sometimes you need lightning to strike to see whats biting your neck) The controls shouldn't be a problem if you have played Resident Evil1 or 0 on the 'Cube also.

Your turn!

I havent yet had any difficulties playing the game while Ashley is tagging along. She has not gotten in the way as of yet, but telling her to stay, follow, hide does add to a level of tedium after a while.

I'd have to say that I was REALLY surprised when the village leader (older guy that has a ZZ-Top hillbilly style beard) busts out of his body and proceeds to try to put the smack down on you. I knew something was up with him because he was so big and had super strength and wutnot, but growing that huge centipedic torso and having gigantic insectlike arms bust out of his back really reminded me of the movie The Thing.

yea when busted out i was like "WTF WHEN DO I GET TO DO THAT!". Luckily i found a spot on the upper floor where he cant hit you and walks back and forth trying to get to a place to hit you, when his upper half split off, hellooooo mr shotty :D

Oh, and what i meant by controlling ashley is when you actually have to BE ashley (they get seperated and she needs to go to leon) you cant kill anything but they cna kill you!

(very very quick summary up to where im at)

you go to a spanish town in europe to look for the president's daughter. after being attacked by 2348283848234 zombie-LIKE enemies they go away when a church bell sounds. you then go down to a lake and fight a giant fish thing that has you caught on a little boat on its back(dragging dorm a rope, after you kill it, you find a guy named luis cera... upon returning to a church you were trying to get into previously, you fight a giant guy called "el gigante". yes, he is huge and wrecked me a few times. next you go to the church and find ashley(presidents daughter) and realize that you and her were injected with an egg of an unknown parasite (called las prabas...something like that) and you go to back to the original village and find luis again and wreck 203982394820394 zombie-LIKE guys. after that he splits and you run to some barn type thing where you fight the village leader(he morphs into a centipede type thing after you burn him alive) next you go into an old spanish castle and meet a little midget punk named Salazar. you run around the castle unlocking doors and getting pieces to a puzzle that opens the door to him. And then Lord Saddler(the guy who started the cult of people trying to kill you) kills luis(who had the vaccines for the parasite in you and ashley)Salazar then tries to kill you for the 2429380th time by dropping you into a pit full of spikes, you save yourself by using your little grappling hook and repel to the bottom. you climb up the side and into a passageway which has this Nemesis type boss(like from resident evil3). he is invulnverable to your attacks but can be frozen by liquid nitrogen(which are helpfully placed around the area. you have to turn on an elevator and wait 4 minutes for it come. after that you piss off lord salazar some more and then thats as far as I got

a lot of grammar that could potentially be corrected, but wont be!

ya that part was a bitch, personally i think it was the worst part of the game... i hated that part and that stupid fuckin sliding puzzle, ive never been good at those things. but other than that part i thought it was one of the best games ever... also it is possible to kill the zombies.. you have to pick up the lanterns and you throw them.

also the mercinaries missions are awesome

yea, but only pussies do that ;)

the first time i did the sliding puzzle i was stuck for about 20 minutes

the second time i realized you have to move any piece into the middle (the space left open at first) and slide all of the other pieces counter clockwise, boom!

Have any of you seen the suplex-special attack that Leon can do to villagers/zealots?

Let one get really close, pop him in the knee (To where he falls to his knees, but not all the way to the ground). The "A" action button should pop up and voila...the ugliest suplex you've ever seen in your life.

I agree about Ashley. I really get tired of baby-sitting. At least let the bitch fire a gun, Capcom...you don't need good aim to point a shotgun at something and pull the trigger.

What a game. Is it too early to declare it Game of the Year ;)

I've been thinking about getting this game, but I generally don't handle survival horror very well. Specifically, I tried playing Silent Hill 1 years ago when it came out and scared the motherfucking shit out of myself to the point where I don't think I slept for a day or two.

The one thing that confuses me is that everybody keeps saying there are no zombies, there are no zombies. Uhh...all the screenshots I've seen show a bunch of grey-skinned villagers with blank stares attacking you en masse. I can't really believe the excuse that "they're cultists," as though that's somehow different from zombies.

I won't spoil what the things in the game are, but I will explain what the "zombies" were and why they were incapable of thinking. The "zombies" in other games weren't truly dead. Their bodies were dead, but their brains were very much alive. The virus caused by the T, and later, G viruses burned out parts of the brain and left only the basic instincts (Basic motor skills and instincts, such as the need to feed). The flesh and organs will decompose, but they can still function for a time.

The bodies of the villagers and zealots in the game are not dead. Their brains aren't diseased. They are very capable and will pin you down if you don't pay attention. I can tell you something is controlling them; I won't tell you what is doing it, just in case you decide to bite the bullet and play the game.

the T virus would kill augment the basic motor skills/strangth of the organism too.

all of the zombie like spaniards are lord saddlers puppets, they were all injected by las prabas(or whatever) and follow him now. they can pin you down but the riot gun(and now the fast firing shotty) has an uncanny knack for getting you out of those situations ;)

Depends on the organism. The T-virus could only enhance physical attributes with the help of steroids and a team of surgeons. The G-virus caused rapid mutation in almost anything it touched (Except for most humans...only a select few had the blood required to mutate. Birkin was one of these few, as we saw in RE2).

The Riot Gun is my faaaaaaaaaavorite weapon ever :D

just wait, you get a shotty that shoots faster and is more powerful :D

im praying that i get an autoshotty later in the game :)

anyone else get to the part where you find that hard core special forces guy with the scar on his face?(not the cinematic where saddler tells him to kill you, when you actually meet him)

if you dont die the first 3 times when you encounter him, you are god.(you have to pressA+B or L+R to dodge his knife attacks which basically come out of nowhere)

the story is starting to get gooooooood!

nope, striker is the last shotgun :p

noooooooooooo my autoshotty!

oh well, i still need to get 80k to get the exclisive upgrade for my rifle (the bolt action one, im hard core)

my punisher is also fully upgraded with the exclusive upgrade (piercing bullets)

how long did it take you to beat the game? im on about 14 hours now and i think im getting close

I agree with your decision making.

EDIT: Do I stand alone when I say the fight you have with Krauser is one of the most fantastic and intense boss fights one could ever experience? The dodging system is so beautifully intertwined with the actual fight and I was in pure bliss while fighting him :D

I bought an used Gamecube just to play this game!!!! About time the RE francishe gets with the time. Who the hell wants to spend half the game time back tracking to where they started the game just to find a stupid key which can only open one door!!!! The puzzles are pretty easy. This time, the game put a lot of emphasis on the combat system and plot development. I am into my 8 hour of game time. I am at the ski lift and being chopped off by the Spanish. :D
