There is a whole list of "better" products out there but without knowing the application (games or music) and a budget it would be imprudent to recommend one to you. ;)

Are you perhaps thinking of the nForce4 non-pro? Maybe confusing it with the soundstorm stuff? There is no Audigy 4...yet :D

I've heard good things about the RME HDSP 9632 Hammerfall card: http://www.zzounds.com/item--RMEHDSP9632.
You may want to upgrade the opamps and the post-DAC filter though.
*Hey, the title said "best audio card" :p Let us know what you plan to do with it.

You're right! My mistake. I guess I haven't heard anyone talking about it so I didn't know it existed. Even so, a couple reviews lead towards the side of saying that the card is way too expensive for not that many more features than the Audigy2. If you're really in to that sort of thing it might be worth it to you though.

Yep, I've got that. I googled it and found some reviews. What puzzles me is why they skipped the Audigy 3

Creative is said to be moving to a whole new card for 2005. I don't think they'll even use the Audigy Name anymore.
