I got two monitors going today, and I was experamenting with nview, when the program locked up. I restarted my computer, and tried again. However, when I right cliced my desktop and clicked properties, nothing happened. Tried nview properties, and it showed it come up in my taskbar, but I couldnt maximize it. Tried nvida control pan, nothing. I ran a virus scan and it found nothing. I went to run adaware, but then I realized I forget to install it since my last format (3 days ago), so I went to download it. Problem is, for some reason, download dialogs wont open. I tried a few other things. CPU-Z and CBID opened fine, then I tried prime95. Program opened, but when I went to torture test, the next dialog wouldnt open. Went into safe mode, downloaded adaware and installed it, and i was clean. 1 entry, alexa, which installs with windows. So, anyone got any idea's as to why everything got screwed up and/or how to fix it.

Have you tried to launch the Display properties from the control panel? You might also try to run SFC/SCANNOW to replace any files that were altered. You will need the original media, plus any service packs that you may have installed.

Can you see the other monitor? I've seen programs load up on the wrong display before..

Reinstall the nvidia drivers maybe?

10 bucks says the windows are opening off the screen...

Try disabling Nview (if you can) and /or disabling the second monitor...

well, i figured it out, and it was mighty odd. I have a Voodoo4 that I use just for a spare monitor when I reinstall windows or do a bios reset. I ran a thirt monitor on that, but about 3 weeks ago, I disabled it and unplugged it. Fot some reason however, things started defaulting to that monitor. I am totally stumped as to why since I didnt use ultramon and nview coudnt recognize a monitor on a non-nvidia card. But, everything is working. now. I put a monitor back on it, dragged everything over to the 1st monitor and then redisabled it. Problem sovled. Thanks to whoever suggested that. I owe you $10 ;)
