I would like to have a dual boot computer, but which operating system can I download to try this with? Im just looking to learn and explore with something new, not game or anything like that.

Linux is always a possibility. FreeBSD and BeOS are also fun to play with. Apples Darwin is available, but its just kind of a novelty thing imo. No matter what you pick though make sure to read the partitioning and boot loader docs so you don't do something you regret. Good luck. :) :)

I think Mandrake is a good starter-linux for learners. But I'm an uber-noobie to linux, so maybe someone in the linux sub-forum can help you.
I have mandrake 10 installed on my extra computer. Its sitting, turned off, doing nothing at all, because I never had anything useful to do with it :).

The best way to learn linux is to lock yourself inside of it. And stay away from pansy distros like mandrake/suse.
Along the lines of linux, I'd recommend gentoo or slackware :) There's always Solaris 10 you can get for free, too.
