Does anyone one know if the new crop of Nforce4 motherboards have the all-new SATA cables described in the January 2005 copy of Maximum PC ("A Latch Made In Heaven"; pg 34)?
Thanks

I think I've found a answer to my question.
Under the detailed review of the A8N-SLI Deluxe, PC Perspective http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=98, stated:
"The NVIDIA connectors use the new SATA connection sytle that are more stable than the older style, which for some reason Asus continued to use on the Silicon Image channels"
Cool, so at least on the A8N-SLI Deluxe they have the new connectors.

HUH?
You know I have noticed that the silicon image connectors fit better with my standard SATA cable sthan the Nvidia connectors...
Do I need a special SATA cable or is it just on the motherboard side of things?

I'm not sure it's only on the motherboard side of things, but the A8N-SLI Deluxe comes with
8 x Serial ATA cables
1 x SATA Extension module for external devices
4 x 2-port SATA power cable
Based on the review 4 of the cables support the new and improved latch and 4 of the cables are the old style and don't
