Yeah its Tigerdirect, but Tiger has been bought by Global Computers. Global is adopting Tigers website because its layout is much better than Globals other than that, its all Global.

More info:

Contrast Ratio:
700:1
Brightness
300 nit (cd/mē)
Response Time
15 ms (Rising), 10 ms (Falling)
Resolution and Preset Modes
Maximum Resolution
1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz

No DVI

Pretty good deal.
Another option is one at newegg

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=24-013-014&depa=0

Has lower contrast and brightness, but has 16ms response time instead of 25. Still no DVI tho. But I'd trust newegg rebates more than tigerdirect, even if they do have a new owner.

LCD prices seem to be dropping. I think I'm going to wait and see if a 19" pops up for 299 with 16ms AND DVI.

I found one for my brothers PC at CompUSA before X-mas for $299.00 after rebates. It has a DVI input and the contast was OK.It was from some company I've never heard of before . Norwood Micro I think it was.

i wish i knew more about LCD's cause this seems like a great deal!!
all i know is that the lower the response time, the better it is.

but what about contrast? sceptre has a gamer monitor that is 12ms response and a contrast
ratio of 500:1 and this $299 monitor has a contrast of 700:1 with 15ms response

is their that big of a difference between 3ms reponse and 200:1 contrast? is it that noticeable??

the gamer monitor would be $140 more
any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated!!

This monitor is 25ms response time. You add the rising and falling together to get total response time.

And yes there would be a noticable difference between 12 and 25.

This is a hell of a deal

I remember thinking I was getting a deal when I thought about buying a 19" for ~430 dollars.

It is nice to see LCD's continually drop in price over time. :)

quick question before i jump on the one for 300 from the egg. whats so much better about dvi?

12 ms vs 25ms
~83fps vs 40fps limit for the monitor, big difference

keeps the signal digital rather than converting to analog over the wire and back to digital through the LCD.

DVI gives you a picture where the colors arent blended as much through the pixels, kinda hard to explain.

similar between composite and svideo looks

it provides a very significant boost in picture quality for LCDs

so should i even bother? or should i wait to find a good deal on a DVI LCD?

Wow thanks for the info there Ocean. I knew there was a large difference in 12ms and 25ms but seeing it in fps really puts things into perspective.

P.s. I still think this is a hot deal, just not for a gaming machine. For a surfer, business, or "parents" machine it would be sweet.
