Sony's always seems too expensive for what you get, though.

Your right. I really hated spending 550$ (after 100$ rebate) for my sony, but its served me well. I had a samsung 710T for 430$ and the sony is no where near as fast, but the sony looks ten times better to me.
Finally at this reduced price, its at the price range of the other monitors. Too bad my current computer can only have one display, or ide buy another for dual monitors ^_^.

If you can't be helpful, don't just point people to google. Really that's just threadcrapping and rude.
You have to search sonystyle for the specs, which I've kindly posted here for your comparison. (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=SDMHS93/B#specs)
Monitor has a 25ms response time. Not the best for gaming. Anyone out there that has one of these care to enlighten us on the ups & downs of this monitor?

The only 3 main turn off's for people might be its size......
its lack of vertical height adjustment...
and its slow response time.
If you do fast paced games, i would not recommend this monitor. I had a samsung 710T with i think 12ms.... and this has a 25ms response time. it is very slow with grey scale color changes, such as from black to white..... colors are a "little" less noticible.
If your want to watch a DVD, or play a game without bluring, this monitor is not for you sadly.
Other then that, its beauitful. So much better then my 5 year old Sony 19" trinitron CRT. Colors are awsome. What's even better is that right out of the box, the colors were almost perfect for me. My 710T i had to adjust every last setting, and still i did'nt like the color on it.
Text is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, even if it is only analog. I do not use MS clear type, as i find it makes the text worse. (on the samsung 710T, i had to have clear type on... which was horrible).
It has a huge viewing angle. you can look at it from almost any angle... honestly. my samsung 710T... even looking at it directly.... there was color distortion. the samsun had like, a 90º viewable range... this has almost 180º. (also, on this one, the greater the viewing angle, the colors just wash out to a lighter color... where as the 710T turned BROWN....)
Its light enough, and easy to carry for me.
The analog cable Sony provides is sooooo short, its almost a joke.
I have no dead pixles. My 710T had over 4 dead pixles, and over 8 minor dead pixles.
Glare is not a problem at all! I never notice glare. (far better then my trinitron with glare reduction coating).
To sum up, if you want to do a lot of games, i do not recommend it.
If you play the occasional diablo 2, or no limit hold'em poker, then i recommend this monitor 100% ^_^.
~Hope this helps.
