I'm looking at PDP/Patriot PEP5124000EL memory for my brother's MSI K8N Neo FSR setup for Christmas. Anybody get this? I see plenty of people get the PC3200 stuff, but I haven't seen anything about the PC4000 stuff, yet (unless I missed it).

PC4000 isnt an official spec. It's basically PC3200, but high enough quality to be rated at that. It will run at PC4000 only when overclocked, if that's what you mean. It defaults to DDR400.

Oh, I completely understand that. I'm no n00b. LOL My bro's got an MSI K8N Neo FSR and an A64 3000+ and we feel that what's holding it back from overclocking is the RAM. He's got Kingston HyperX PC3200 in there right now, and he's getting a tiny bit more out of it, but nothing spectacular (10x220). I wanted to get him a stick of RAM for Xmas that has plenty of guaranteed headroom, so that's why I was asking about this particular Patriot PC4000. Like I said, everybody keeps chiming in on the PC3200 sticks, but I've never seen anybody buy the PC4000 stuff.

I have PC4200 and it does DDR500 easily. My shitty motherboard canat do higher than a 250MHz FSB. It's OCZ, though. This PC4000 should do about as well.

i have hyper-x and it does 230mhz without much of a problem at all. i can even run 220mhz at 2-3-2-5...
This OCZ cant even boot at 2-3-2-6 at 200MHz, with 1.8v

Like I said initially, I'm looking for opinions on a particular model. 230's pretty good for a PC3200 stick, but I want headroom, and I'm asking for opinions specifically on the Patriot PC4000.
