Here's the deal: A while ago I tried to boot up my desktop (see sig) and my config files were apparently corrupted, so windows wouldn't boot. I have no clue as to what could have caused the problem, but I got out the Win XP cd, went throught the recovery process and got windows back up. For some reason I couldn't install hardware or software to install, and I had some other problems, so I put all my data on my second partition and re-installed windows. I've had no problems since.
Until now. Yesterday I tried booting up the desktop and it gave me the same error as before. I think it was Windows/System32/config is corrupt, it didn't give me a specific file, just that folder. Luckily, I removed the family guy DVD (I don't see how this could affect it) and it rebooted without a problem. I've run defrag, spyware removers, virus scan, registry cleaners, and no really big problems came up. I'm kinda scared to re-boot in fear of having to fix windows again. Any clues as to what it could be? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx.
