Hi there.

I would like to know how to enable the popup box that normally appears when inserting a DVD into the drive, asking you what to do with that DVD (play it with PowerDVD ?, Rip it using DVD Decrypter ? open it with WIndows Explorer ? e.t.c.). That box used to appear in the past, however, something changed and now, everytime I insert a DVD, Windows Explorer opens it up without me asking for it.

Is there any way to bring back that popup box ? It was quite handy.

Thanks in advance.

Open "My Computer"
Right click the DVD Drive
Select Properties
Click the Autoplay tab
Select "DVD Movie from the dropdown box"
Check the "Prompt me Each Time" Radio Button
Hit OK and pop in a movie to see if it works

Thanks for helping me out.

Unfortunately, there's no "DVD Movie" option in the drop down list. Only Music FIles, Pictures, Video files, Mixed Content and Music CD.

Weird. There is probably some way to force it in the registry, but I have no clue how :(

Maybe it's time to take the advice of your sig if you want it to work then. I didin't realize people actually liked those popup boxes, they personally piss me off to no end. Of course, the fact that cd's/dvd's don't pop out immediately when I hit the eject button pisses me off to, so you could say I'm picky on things being instantanious.

Same here.. drives me nuts, also waiting after I've inserted a disc for the computer to get it 'ready" for use
