How many of you actually install the recovery console? I mean so it's available all the time as a boot option...not just running it from the CD. The command in question is:
X:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons
The thread about reformatting or learning to repair got me thinking that maybe some people are quick to reformat because they don't know about the Recovery Console. Anyway, if you install it, let me know. If not, try it out in case you need it in the future. It's helped me out several times.

I install it and load a 5sec timeout in the boot.ini so I dont have to carry an XP disc with me.
Saves time also going into the bios to change boot order if its not set to cd...

I use WINPE instead, much easier, however I do test the installing of cmdcons every now and again.

That's exactly how I have mine configured.

Hope you don't mind my asking this on your thread, but is there a way to install the Recovery console AFTER XP has already been installed? I've been having a lot of problems w/ one of my computers and it'd be nice to have it on there.
