Ok as of right now i have been for the last half an hour trying to install my new Raptor(36.7 SATA) HD coupled with a Cavier SE 160 IDE HD. Where do I start, my god this is getting more confusing that ever. Now I know that there is this Floppy disk that contains the Raid controller drivers I believe, do I have to install that? and how? See I have bought all my parts and have put everything together but when I go to install win XP Pro, in the setup it detects no HD. Another question is it possible to run a Sata HD and a IDE HD at the same time? plz if anyone can walk me through I would really appreciate it. Plz help this Sata crap is all new to me, I have been dealing with IDE a lot but not sure even how this SATA works. Plz. Remember both drives are empty, I trying to load windows onto them( or really just onto the Raptor). Thx
PS: i'll be waiting for a responce. :)

Well for one you will not beable to use both disk's in a RAID array just JBOD mode.
When you boot off your WIn XP CD-ROM It will give a option on teh bar at the bottom of the screen. "Press F6 to install any Mass storage controllers" Press F6. Then put in the Driver Diskette.
It wil prompt to install the storage drivers. just Press S Where is reccomends it and tell it to use the drivers from the diskette. You should now have a working Drive controller.
From there on Just proceed as normal for a win XP installation. BTW If you get a Error 18 then there is problem with your Driver diskette not having the files in the right place

DOes seagate send out floppies, or CDs? I think I heard somewhere that you had to take it off the CD and put it on the floppy before you can install the stuff. Am I completely wrong?

Seagate does not give out SATA controller drivers - they are on your mobo CD or from the controller mfg website
You can make the floppy from the mobo CD, or if you know exactly where they are on CD, you can steer XP to them.
