um you do know this game is not very visualy challeging. I mean come on my machine with a 9600xt in it gets 60-70fps in game with everyting on high. This Game is ment to play on the pos's so stress test my ass.

Whats your deal bro. Every thread started talking about CS:S you come in and bomb it with negative comments. We all get it, you dont like CS:S. Because people are getting high FPS doesn't mean its not a good stress test, it means they did a bad ass job coding and things can look nice and run nice. Go play another game already. :rolleyes:
 
Ummmm, yeah guys I'm used to playing CS at 100 fps constantly, so I make my video settings medium, that way I maintain an average of 90-ish no matter what. And I did not ask for smart comments from people...I only wanted to know what everyone else got on the stess test.
 
I ran it on my x800 and it just gave me this sideways figure 8. What does that mean?

I got 103. I forget what the settings where 1280x1024 and whatever it autoset my settings too med/high.

I just dont understand how everyone can think this game has such bad ass graphics...i mean I understand that you prob havent played any other games besides cs. So mabey you should look at some other games out there and then talk about graphics, and it has nothing to do with the coding. ive played doom3, farcry and now CS:S. they all are graphically impressive in their own right, their engines all set out to accomplish certain goals in terms of environment. out of farcry, doom3 and hl2. to me hl2/cs:S have the sharpest and the most photorealistic textures ive seen in a game. thats one of its strengths. the other games have their strengths and none of them look mediocore overall.

sometimes you have to stop looking at technical specifications and capabilities of each engine, and just open your eyes.

and theres no need to be bitter about people's opinions on a video game.. thats just plain sad.

Of course you can't understand that, because NOBODY IS CLAIMING CS:S IS ANYTHING REVOLUTIONARY IN GRAPHICS. You're so blinded by ignorance that you can't see it. The Source engine was an overhaul in physics, NOT VISUALS.

Counter-Strike was never popular because of the graphics anyways. It is popular because it is easy to approach and difficult to master. If graphics were all that counted, games with shitty multiplayer such as Doom 3 and Far Cry would be in the top spots of internet gaming. Fortunately, it's the gameplay that counts.

Alright, dude. What's the point of you coming in here and trying to be all bad by criticizing what games people like? Just to let you know, I just got Source 2 days ago...so I'm excited about it of course. I spent the whole summer working for an efficient gaming rig for HL2 and CS Source...btw I play Doom 3 and Far Cry, but that's beside the point. Nobody appointed you Judge Jeeves of Forums anyhow.

It’s so nice to see that there are others that agree with me that JEEVES needs to lighten up. This guy is on some kind of mission to try and make everyone think CS:S sucks and that we shouldn't play it, because it’s either to much like CS, or because graphics are not completely breath taking. Personally I think this game looks sweet. Especially with so much "debris" that moves and doesn't disappear like in other games. Doom 3, bodies disappear seconds after killing them, CS:S all the bodies stay so I can see the aftermath of bad ass shot outs. Or toss a few nades to see a bunch of bodies, milk cartons, computers, monitors, pictures, soda cans, ... list goes on of things flying around. CS:S really has done an awesome job with their interaction with objects. Weren't a lot of people complaining that not enough stuff you could interact with in D3. Anyways JEEVES its not that I'm so much a hardcore !!!!!!, but in the end I just like to play it. I enjoy playing it, and that’s all that matters. No one can tell me what to play or stop playing something because they don’t like it. And no one cares if you hate it. Unless your a writer for PC mag, IGN, or something that reviews games, no one cares. This wasn't a thread that said "come in here and bitch about CS:S". So it took longer than I thought, back to the main topic. :p

I averaged about 60 fps with the test with everything on medium and in 1024x768. I guess that’s not to bad for using a GF3 Ti500 with a 1900+ Athlon XP :rolleyes: :p

EDIT: Every time I run the Stress Test, my marks go lower. :rolleyes:

first let me say LMFAO. I made one post, and then all of you dragged it out for two pages. So dont try to say I am the one thread hijacking.

second. When did I Say i hated CS:S? I am mearly not as pleased as I was hoping to be, I am sure some of you have even seen me playing it. I do agree that the physics are nice, and it does have that same ol CS feel. I was just mearly hoping for alittle bit more added to the game then trash.

And as far as stress test goes, if you are realy looking to see how well your computer/graphics card can handle this is not the game to do it with. Now if all you are interested in is how many fps you get in this game then by all means.

Now before all of you go having a heart attack becuase someone doesnt feel the same way as you, you should realy understand that this is a forum. A forum where people can go to post there opinions. The reason you see my post in all the cs:s threads is becuase that is all there is in this section. The other day I counted over 10 threads dedicated to this one game on the first page. I am mearly sick of looking at CS this and CS that. And I am sure that I am not the only one.

My post is not meant to try to change anyones mind, that is up to you. And to think otherwise is very egotistical. I say again, you guys should grow up.

Just updated to the Omega 4.10 drivers and increased my score to 102.8fps.
Same deal as above
All settings set to high , 1024x768 6xaa 16xaf!

Im very happy with that score , although i still think theres some gaining to be done :D

Starting a thread about a (LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH) STRESS TEST ?!??!? For CS:S ? It would make sense for something else, but a stress test ? Please ... A POS computer with a POS video card scores good on this game, the texturing and lighting technology in the HL2 engine is old and outdated. The physics are nice yes ... but graphics ? No.

They would have been good 1 year ago when Valve promised HL2 to be released. So simply stated... this thread is dumb because its like starting a thread ..

Actually, no. Can you give me an example of one game that is graphically comparable to the Source engine, besides Doom 3? Have you even seen the capabilities, like the water textures and the reflective surfaces? Not to mention, Counter-Strike is the number 1 multiplayer game in the world and people now are used to getting a high of 300 fps with today's video cards. When CS:Source came out, the fps dropped dramatically and now I just wanted to know how people did with their stress test scores. My video card cost $425 after tax so I could play this game at high details w/o complaints. HL2 is the most anticipated game of the year and people are interested in how well their rig can handle it. You're sadly mistaken with your comments about POS computers (a geforce 5200 gets 20 fps average), wow that handles greatly!!!
