View Full Version : Missing Add/Remove Programs Icon in the Control Panel

Hey,

I got a laptop using XP home and the Add/Remove Programs Icon is straight up missing. Anyone encountered anything like this before? Even on safe mode it is missing. The computer is just whacked out with Spyware, even tried using Spy Sweeper and it would get locked up.

You can try to run :>
C:\WINDOWS\system32\appwiz.cpl

Thats the applet for the add remove function directly

Or even try typing in the run line "control appwiz.cpl" to save yourself some file drilling...

Okay I will try that out. But even if I was to be able to go into the Add/Remove Programs, is there a way to get it back?

Is tweakui installed? You can hide icons from the control panel with it. If it's got so much spyware on it, why bother with add/remove programs, just boot your XP cd and format.
