Service Pack 2 crashes!!

Well i have a PIV 3.2 Prescott, an ASUS P5AD2 deluxe, 512 DDR2, PCX 5750 card! I really need some advice on how to install the SP2 :eek: . Cause its crashing when windows starts. Does anyone have a clue off can can i do it?? thx for the replies.

No m8. it crashes on agp440...i really dont know what can i do more... II had the same prob last week when i had the P4C 800 DELUXE. the processor was the same. Memory was ddr though..

Sounds like you changed the motherboard but kept the same Windows install?

Reinstall windows or use the Fix Windows option (or whatever it is) from the Windows disc (boot off of it).

No. i reinstalled everything even the favorites :) ... Well its anyone having the same prob?? if someone can do it i without probs pls reply. Its the new Intel chipset and i hope to get SP2 soon... Cause i bet there will be a SP8 before Longhorn :rolleyes:

I've read some mobos matched with Prescotts cause sp2 problems. I have a friend who installed sp2 last Friday and since then he can't get it to boot. Safe mode crashes at same point and never gets to a load screen on normal bootup. He's tried updating his BIOS, but now that will kill half way through flashing so his machine is messed up pretty good. He's doing a lot more work Friday and if I hear anything I'll let ya know.

Is this a windows update sp2 or a network install sp2? I've had a few system puke after the windows update install. I just reinstalled the network(262mb) over the top and all was well. Worth a shot.

Edit: realized that your board is lga775, which means your cpu is d0 stepping and thus this doesn't apply.
