I used "literally" every method that I know of (safemode, command prompt, manually) of system restore/last good config I even tried to use the repair windows option upon booting the cd but unfortunately I dont know the commands to get it to repair (have to do some more research I guess) but all to no avail. This the the 4th time I have had this problem and had to reformat. You put together a 4 grand system only to have some shitty OS mess it up!!!! Damn Microsoft, unfortunately I need them to run my games as this is a game machine. Please help me.

Check out your hardware to make sure thats not the cause of your misshaps.

Agreed, there is definately something else at the root of the problem. Check HW for sure and if it all checks good, look into the software you are loading. Believe it or not there are companies out there that write FAR worse software than MS.

Shall we call them "Shade-Engineers" or "Shade-Programmers", you know, people who just can't leave things for those who are really good at it... :D

So far I used System Restore successfully a couple of times, but my rule of thumb for it is as follows:

1-After installing/uninstalling stuff, and it works, I disable System Restore, delete all prefetch files, reboot and enable it again. I just don't think System Restore is ment to be left on forever, till the day you really needs it....Stuff it refers to may be gone ....

I absoloutly agree. I checked all devices and drivers for unsigned and un-verified as well as problems in registry and found a few concerns that I fixed using a WinXP error info book. I also manually verified a few drivers and it seemed to smooth things out a bit with errors related to the drivers (talk about learning code/script the hard way) Needless to say I have yet to try the restore as things seem ok for now. Thanks for the feed back guy's.
