hello I have panther and a powerbook. I recently got some files and they are packed like filename.dmg.1.bin, filename.dmg.2.bin, and so on. how do I open these ? I try stuff it but it just seems to make a copy of the files and OSX doesn't know what to do with them ? Please help.

There in binary.... Um you could try Stuff it to see it if will open them. dmg is a disk image im guessing the 1 and 2 is what cd it is but why its in binary is probably for a dl purposes you could aslo try removing the .1.bin and the .2.bin from the files then open them up with the disk mounting s/w i cant rember what its called.

there are 18 files total. filename.dmg.(#1-18).bin I tryed stuff it but it just leaves me with files that OSX doesn't know what to do with, And when I try and mount them it says unmountable.

I dont know what your opening but I usually use winiso turn the bin to iso or just open up the bin file from in there I like winiso and winrar I use both all the time for purposes I cant talk about without breaking any forum rules :D

Yeah, Stuffit should be able to handle those files, so I don't know why it isn't.

this is weird. It wouldn't work when I used stuff it on the bins on my mac. But I sent them to my PC used stuff it on the bins on my pc. That left me with a bunch og .dmg files. Than I sent it back to my powerbook. I click the first and it extracted everything correctly. So why won't stuff it on my powerbook extract from .bins properly.

I'm not sure. That is weird. I've had the same problem with Zip files.
