Hello all, I had an account here LONG ago but it seems it was lost... Oh well I recreated it. Anyway, I have a question I am hoping some of you may have some input on. Here is my situation: There is an existing lan with about a dozen pc's connected to a linksys router then to a cable modem. We want to add a wireless access point so users can gain internet access, however the existing lan needs to be protected from these wireless users. Any suggestions on the best way to setup a machine in the middle? (wireless -> firewall box -> existing lan -> router -> inet) Will something like smoothwall, clark connect, or another router distro have this functionality? Any input??? Thanks :)

That's along the lines of what I was thinking. Have any reference link suggestions where I can become more familiar with the setup - so as to make it as secure as possible? Or if anyone has any other input/details to share? Or suggested software/distro to use. Thanks in advance everyone. :)

I would say Cable---Wireless Router---Wired Router---Existing LAN. Off the shelf components, no extra config needed. KISS-type solution.
