i hear a *click* and then a high pitch whine like it is spinning back up... its happening frequently.... esp. now when i try to start a game or do much disk access...

That is exactly what my old hard drive did when it died on me. Had to get a new one. Got it for free though. Sorry :( . Those are expensive too.

f'ing great.... the oem raptors have the 5 year aswell?

i got this thing when it first came out, i paid 200 bones for it off of newegg.... does it matter that it is oem?

but the kicker is when i run WD drive diagnostics on it it passes... i suppose ill see about ordering a 74gig raptor and waiting for this to finally die to rma it... if i can.

Mine are both oem raptors and the serials pull up with a 5 year warranty on WD's site, go plug the serial in and see what happens

I had a Western Digital drive die on me. Even after it died and took all my information with it, it would still pass Western Digital's Data Lifeguard tests. . .go figure.
