WindowsXP Home just seems to "hang" at the logo for almost exactly one minute on my parents computer (AthlonXP 2200+, 256MB PC3200, 80GB 7200RPM HDD...)

And this is a brand new harddrive, fresh install of XP Home, I ran AVG antivirus, Ad-aware, spybot search and destroy, they all came up with nothing, I even did a defrag.

Once it gets past the logo screen, the welcome screen is only there for about half a second, a lot quicker than on my other computer.

The timeout setting in Boot.ini is set at 3, the lowest i could set it in msconfig, and that didn't make a difference. I also tried having the computer boot without the logo, but it still took a long time, minus the logo screen.

Any ideas on what I can do to speed this up?

The computer is not slow at all once I'm in the OS, and everything else works fine, and loads fast.

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you have some driver loaded that's not playing nice with the system, and taking a while to load. Go through your hardware and make sure you have the latest drivers loaded for each device.
