Since I have installed XP sp2 all of the popup links that I click using Internet Explorer are blocked. I have gone in and shut down the popup blocked in internet options, and the little icon at the bottom of IE say popups not blocked.

The problem is that they are still blocked. Also if I click a link to Open In New Window, it just sits at a blank screen. I have to hit Stop and Refresh, then the address shows up in the address bar and the web site will open.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Another unhappy sp2 user :confused:

I have noticed the same thing on my rig. I turn it off completely since I'm happy with google's toolbar.

so I started digging in the registry and came up with this hive (NOTE: this is the backup of what I altered):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_WEBOC_POPUPMANAGEMENT]
@=""
"iexplore.exe"=dword:00000001
"explorer.exe"=dword:00000001
"msimn.exe"=dword:00000001

I noticed that popup management was still enabled for iexplorer.exe. So I backed mine up (a, and deleted the iexplorer.exe entry. I just went to gamershell.com and tried to dl an exe...it still does it. I'll set the iexplorer.exe to '0' to see what effect that has on the system doing this.
