My parents XP machine gives a ntkrnl.dll (or close to it) error on boot & of course will not start up. I am going over this eve to fix. What is the best way to fix this? I know when u boot from the XP cd, there is a repair option. i have done this before in the past but it only took me to cli & not sure where to go from there. i want to try & avoid doing a re-install if possible. Can i get to the cli & just copy the .dll back over? Thanks for any advice.

I was receiving this error // but the CPU was Oc'd during the install. So I put it back on stock settings and it installed error-free

this is on their stock machine. They've had XP installed for over a year & now getting this error. I think it says something like the ntkrnl.dll file is missing or corrupt. I am not sure what happened recently that would cause this. I was thinking a virus or maybe the hard drive going out.
if i have to do a re-install over the current install i can, just hoping i can do something quick & easy to fix the bad dll.
