Can i remove macromedia flash player in Windows 98?

Hi all

My internet browsing/messanger/rss reader machine is a lowly k63-450 running windows 98SE. Flash ads are causing it to slow down considerably while running firefox 9.2.

Is there a way to remove macromedia flash player so i dont have to put up with the flash ads?

(the adblock extension for firefox doesnt seem to remove flash ads)
