hey all..

Last time I put together a system PC2100 was the fastest stuff out there, so I need your advice on what has changed since then.

I'm planning on putting together an Athlon 64 3400+, and looking around the Kingston HyperX seems like good ram (even though its a little bit pricey)

Question is... How high should I go in the speed grade... PC3200 is standard for this platform. I was thinking maybe PC3500 would be the way to go?

I'm just trying to figure out above which rating I am just wasting my money...

Thanks,
Matt

Are you looking to overclock? If not, just spend your money on something with decent timings. Even with RAM like that you can still overclock by using the RAM divider since it's so difficult to get a 1:1 ratio.
